What changes the coverage?
- Surface texture: rough or uneven surfaces can require more material than smooth surfaces.
- Porosity: absorbent substrates and poorly prepared areas can affect material use.

Measure the defect, not the internal ceiling stain
Water can travel before appearing inside a building. The visible stain may not sit directly below the roof defect. Identify the likely entry point and the full area needing preparation before deciding whether a 1 litre local-repair kit is suitable.

When the repair area is too large
If the problem is widespread, the deck is soft or sagging, the roof has extensive deterioration or the source cannot be identified confidently, do not assume that stretching a small kit over the area is an adequate repair. Seek professional assessment.
